Time to Let Go (Short story)
I wasn't ready. I knew for a fact that things wouldn't pan out the way I wanted them to, but I kept pushing myself either way. You were the opposite, thought the opposite, you had so much hope and shone bright right from the beginning. I didn't think you could have the ability to bring out the best in people, let alone, me; I didn't think there was any good anyone could bring out of me, ever. But you did. You were kind and honest, always supportive and your enthusiasm was contagious. I should have told you more often that your attributes made me change my mind about a lot of people. There was a time where I thought I didn't deserve you and you proved me wrong. You taught me that I deserve good things, the best things. That I deserve to be loved, cherished and that my company was precious. I'm guessing that is the kind of stuff you learn at home, from your parents and everyone else in your family.
